My Biography

About Me

I am a neurosurgeon turned psychiatrist, who now also offers high performance coaching. I became interested in the brain during medical school and chose to specialize in neurosurgery, completing my residency at the University of Louisville in 1985.

Where are you going? What are
you doing today to get there?

I practiced neurosurgery for 16 years before seeing a psychologist, Al, who helped me understand my feelings of inadequacy stemming from my father’s pressure for perfection. I then saw another therapist, Paul, and a psychiatrist, Keith, who I saw for 10 years and through whom I came to love the process of psychodynamic psychotherapy. Eventually, I decided to switch my profession to psychiatry and now I also offer high performance coaching to help others achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
